This is how we do it…

Personality, passion, style, & philosophy converge to make the magic happen..

PHILOSOPHY & APPROACH

My philosophy is simple. First, to capture the essence. character, & emotion of YOUR wedding. I really cater to you and YOUR wedding.  To capture in a photojournalistic style, but creatively through the exploitation of creative angles and strong composition.

My approach is to be everywhere…yet nowhere. Which means not being in your (or your guests’) way.  I anticipate things before they happen so that I can be in the best position. Yes, I have a “ninja” approach.. but I will also do whatever it takes to get the shot.

PERSONALITY

As you can read from reviews & testimonials…I am easy-going and like to have fun with my clients.  I get many comments from fellow vendors that they love to work with me because a) I’m a total professional b) I work with them and try to adapt whenever possible. Why?  Because in my view…we are all there for YOU.  If you hired a videographer..I want your video to be as awesome as your photos (not possible)..but you know what I mean. lol

EDITING

As you may notice in my galleries..I don’t have one particular editing style. I don’t shoot everything with a shallow depth of field (photog talk for blurred backgrounds) & throw a vintage film preset on everything and call it a day.  Nor do I outsource my editing.  Simply put..I edit to the character of YOUR wedding.  For example..fall foliage wedding..I’m pushing color.  Beach wedding? Light & Airy tones.  Rustic barn wedding? Vintage film.  Simple..YOUR wedding..YOUR way.

GOAL

My biggest goal is to capture all the important emotional moments of your wedding day..that is what my job truly is.  What I have coined…”Works of Heart”.  But beyond that, and what I’m known for is…creating stunning “Works of Art” for you.  Basically 90% candid photojournalism & 10% composed shots. Simply put…my ultimate goal is to create outstanding & truly unique images for my clients…”Works of Art”…and “Works of Heart”. Images that move you.

POSING?

Gasp..The word “posing” has become a dirty word over the years because it is associated with cheesy stiffness.  As you can see in my galleries, I do not put you in uncomfortable or stiff poses.  Do you feel that you are un-photogenic or awkward in front of the camera? lol I hear that all the time. Don’t worry..my style is relaxed. And I use my dopey sense of humor to put people at ease. If it doesn’t look right…I’ll direct. But when you look at your photos…I want you to see YOU and your love for one another..not a fashion or molded version of yourselves. Relaxed & authentic.

PRICING

I have priced my services & products in the “middle of the pack” and try to be affordable to most.  Why? Because it is important to me to photograph for people who love what I do and are the right fit…not just those who can afford me.  This helps me to create lasting relationships with my clients.  In fact, I have gained many friends over the years because I have photographed a couple’s wedding.  It is one of the best parts of my job.

Anyways…QUALITY + PRICE = GREAT VALUE = NO BRAINER!  So hit me up and let’s get this party started! 😛

Do what you love...the rest will come.

I Believe Passion is the Gift…

People often say to me “you have a gift”.  While I truly appreciate the kind words…my response is that the true gift from God is “passion”.  THAT is what drives everything and allows someone to get good at something.  Finding something in life that you really love to do is a blessing…and I’m thankful for being allowed to find wedding photography.  Once you are blessed with being passionate about something…the craft or talent develops.  “Do what you love…the rest will come.”   I believe you can get good at anything if you really want to.  But to be the best…you really have to WANT to be the best.

Honestly, to me, your wedding photography should really be one of the TOP priorities when it comes to planning your wedding day. Simply put…this is a once-in-a-lifetime event…and there are no do-overs!  Style is important..but experience is absolutely critical when it comes to wedding photography. There’s only one chance to get it right.
The “digital age” and social media has caused the industry to be flooded with tons of new photographers. It must be overwhelming for brides and grooms to sift through it all. Many of these photographers have good eyes, and now have the means to just fix things in post production or throw on filters. But there is so much more to the equation than just pretty pictures.  Experience and the ability to be able to adapt to any situation is paramount.

I see so many part-timers that jump into wedding photography just as a “weekend gig”. But it really takes more dedication in order to be the BEST at this. When I’m not shooting for clients, I’m attending seminars.. learning and improving my craft. Bottom line, make sure you identify with someone’s style and personality…but also make sure you choose someone with the proper experience. This is your wedding day…you deserve nothing less.

I have a sincere passion for what I do (everyone says that..right?), but as corny as it sounds..I freakin’ LOVE wedding photography!!  And, I truly consider it an honor to be a part of this very special day in a couple’s life. I believe anyone who is invited to a wedding should feel that way. I take enormous pride in my work and go the extra mile to make my clients happy, because this day is all about them, not about me.

Lastly, I try to make a effort to photograph for people who really dig what I do!  So if this is you…and you’re looking for something truly out of the ordinary, then I would love the opportunity to meet you and discuss the possibilities. Let’s grab a cup of joe sometime.

All the best, Sam
